61-Year-Old Inmate Dies After Medical Emergency At Banning Correctional Facility
An investigation is underway after a 61-year-old inmate at the Banning Correctional Facility died following a medical emergency last week. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday that an inmate was in medical distress inside the facility’s transportation area.
The inmate has been identified as Michael Dupas of Perris. Deputies and medical staff responded, and Dupas was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. His condition continued to worsen, and he was pronounced dead on November 14.
No additional details regarding the cause of the medical emergency or the circumstances surrounding the incident have been released. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains active.
