Know Before You Go: Week of November 17, 2025

Although roads across the valley have reopened since the weekend rain, there are still a number of road projects you should know about before you go.

Palm Desert - Cook Street Project Nearing Completion

The CVWD water line project on Cook Street has wrapped up its main work and crews are now repaving the roadway. The project should be complete before Thanksgiving. Continue using Portola Avenue or Washington Street as alternate routes until paving is finished.

Indian Canyon Drive Closed Through Wednesday

Indian Canyon Drive is closed between Garnet Avenue and Sunrise Parkway for bridge construction starting today through November 20th. This affects the main connector between Desert Hot Springs and Palm Springs. Detour via Gene Autry or Vista Chino and allow extra travel time.

Indio Intersection Still Without Signals

The intersection of Indio Boulevard and Clinton Street remains dark with stop signs in all directions. There's currently no timeframe for repairs. Exercise extreme caution at this intersection, especially at night when the area is very dark.

Safety Tip of the Week: Pedestrians making right turns—make eye contact with the driver before stepping into the crosswalk. Drivers—watch carefully for pedestrians when turning right.
