Cathedral City Police Receive $55,000 Grant to Boost Traffic Safety Efforts
Cathedral City Police are strengthening their traffic safety efforts thanks to a newly awarded grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The $55,000 in funding, announced today, will support a variety of enforcement operations designed to reduce serious injuries and fatalities on city roads.
According to the department, the grant will fund DUI checkpoints, targeted traffic enforcement, collaborative operations with nearby agencies, and additional officer training. Officials say these resources are essential as the city continues working to curb dangerous driving behaviors.
The Office of Traffic Safety provided the grant through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which supports programs across the state aimed at improving roadway safety for all drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
