Crypto Scams Surge as Experts Warn Investors to Stay Vigilant

Cryptocurrency may be dominating financial headlines, but experts warn that scams in the digital asset space are rising just as quickly. Crypto analyst “Crypto Fitz” says fake trading platforms and fraudulent exchanges are becoming more sophisticated, often showing investors fabricated monthly statements to create the illusion of growing profits.

Fitz shared the story of a friend who believed he had turned a $10,000 deposit into $65,000 — until the exchange demanded thousands of dollars in upfront “fees” before releasing his so-called earnings. Fitz says situations like this are a major red flag and a reminder that if something seems too good to be true, it likely is.

He urges investors to thoroughly research any platform before depositing funds and to understand exactly what they’re getting into. “Do your own research and be comfortable with what you’re doing,” he says. “Never send money in advance to unlock funds. That’s how these scams get you.”
