Eight People Injured After House Explosion Rocks Chino Hills Neighborhood

Emergency crews responded Monday night after an explosion severely damaged a home in Chino Hills, injuring as many as eight people and forcing nearby residents to evacuate. Aerial footage from the scene shows significant destruction to the structure as investigators work to determine what happened.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the explosion was most likely caused by a gas leak. Four people at the home were transported to the hospital by first responders. Another four are believed to have taken themselves to a hospital before crews arrived. At this time, none of the injuries are reported to be life-threatening.

As a safety precaution, officials evacuated 16 nearby homes while crews assessed the stability of the area and continued their investigation into the cause of the explosion.
