Morongo Band of Mission Indians Donates 15,000 Turkeys in Annual Thanksgiving Outreach

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians wrapped up its 39th annual Thanksgiving outreach this week, completing one of the region’s largest holiday food efforts. A total of 15,000 turkeys were donated, with tribal members and volunteers working over two days to ensure the meals reached those who need them most.

More than 100 organizations received turkey donations, including food pantries, schools, senior centers, veterans groups and local nonprofits throughout the Coachella Valley. Among the recipients were the Palm Springs Unified School District, the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, multiple church groups, and several smaller community food programs.

The Morongo Band’s long-standing outreach continues to support thousands of families during the holiday season, reinforcing the tribe’s commitment to giving back and strengthening communities across the region.
