American Legion Post 519 Distributes 300 Thanksgiving Meals to Local Veterans

The holiday spirit was on full display in Palm Springs today as American Legion Post 519 handed out 300 Thanksgiving meals to local veterans. Dozens of men and women who served stopped by to pick up turkey, pies, and all the traditional holiday sides.

The effort was part of the annual Drive Out Hunger event, organized by Honda and Toyota of the Desert. Their teams, along with American Legion members, helped distribute the meals throughout the morning.

“This is near and dear to our hearts coming into the holiday season,” said Anthony Caridi, general manager of Toyota of the Desert. “And can you think of a better group than our veterans and military? They sacrifice for all of us to be free.”

Organizers also thanked the Cathedral City Stater Bros. on Date Palm Drive and Ramon Road for providing food and essentials that made the giveaway possible.
