New Details Released in Death of Cathedral City Councilmember Mark Carnevale

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has released new details about the death of Cathedral City Councilmember Mark Carnevale.

Deputies were called to a home in Rancho Mirage just before 7 p.m. Sunday for a report of an attempted suicide. Despite lifesaving efforts, Carnevale was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation has now been turned over to the coroner’s bureau, and deputies say there is no evidence of foul play at this time. Carnevale’s passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences from across the Coachella Valley.
