Coachella Valley Rescue Mission Urgently Seeks Food Donations Ahead of Thanksgiving

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission is urgently calling for food donations as its pantry reaches one of the lowest levels staff has ever seen heading into the Thanksgiving holiday. Mission officials say donations have fallen sharply in recent months, even as the need for food assistance continues to rise throughout the region.

The mission expects to serve more than 40,000 meals this Thanksgiving season. In addition to daily support, CVRM also plans to distribute more than 700 holiday food boxes to families across the Coachella Valley. With demand outpacing supply, they are asking the community to step in and help replenish essential items.

A community Thanksgiving dinner will be served next Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the mission’s campus on Van Buren Street in Indio. To help support these efforts, CVRM is requesting donations of turkeys or plant-based alternatives, stuffing, potatoes, canned vegetables and other traditional holiday staples.

Monetary donations are also being accepted online at CVRM.org, providing another way for residents to help ensure no family in the Valley goes without a holiday meal.
