LIVE: Holiday Tree Lighting at Acrisure Arena

Light sprinkles couldn’t keep the community away tonight as crowds gathered at Acrisure Arena for the annual holiday tree lighting. NBC Palm Springs’ Pablo Alsina stood by with an umbrella in hand, giving viewers a quick look at the seven-day forecast before the big moment.

Rain is expected to continue into tomorrow with temperatures around 85 degrees and light showers through the night. Conditions will clear for a cooler Saturday, followed by sunny days in the mid-70s for the rest of next week.

As the final speeches wrapped up and Santa took the stage, attendees joined in a countdown to light the towering holiday tree. Cheers erupted as the arena lit up for the season. The event also featured a canned food drive and holiday festivities with Fuego pumping up the crowd.

Organizers say it’s one of the many community events the arena proudly hosts to bring people together during the holidays.
