Sunny Skies Return to the Valley as Temperatures Warm; Next Rain Chance Arrives December 1

After a cooler-than-normal weekend across the Coachella Valley, temperatures are climbing back toward seasonal averages under clear skies. Palm Springs topped out at 71 degrees Sunday, still below the typical 75-degree mark for this time of year. Saturday brought even cooler conditions, with highs near 68 degrees, cloud cover, and light drizzle.

Early morning temperatures today were in the 50s across the Valley, with radar showing clear and quiet conditions throughout the southwest. That calm pattern is expected to continue for the next several days. Highs today will land in the mid- to upper-70s with abundant sunshine, while coastal areas may see patches of fog with highs in the low 70s.

A ridge of high pressure will strengthen on Tuesday, bringing slightly warmer temperatures. Highs will reach the upper 70s to lower 80s, and a Santa Ana wind pattern will develop. The strongest winds are expected Tuesday, especially along and north of the I-10 corridor, before easing slightly on Wednesday and Thursday.

Humidity will remain low as leftover moisture from last weekend gradually fades. By midweek, expect sunny skies, dry air, and afternoon highs around 80 degrees in Palm Springs and the upper 70s across the rest of the Valley.

The next chance for rain arrives this weekend, though totals look light for most of the region. A stronger system is forecast to develop about a week from today, on Monday, December 1. Early models show a better opportunity for measurable rainfall as the system pulls up deeper moisture, though forecast details may shift as we get closer.

The Comfort Air 7-day forecast shows mid-70s today with sunshine, climbing to 79 on Tuesday and staying near that mark Wednesday. Cloud cover increases Friday into the weekend with a slight chance of sprinkles, and the best chance of rain arrives December 1.
