Three Valley Students Have Artwork Featured On SunLine Bus Traveling Across Coachella Valley
Three Valley students are getting a unique honor: their artwork will now be displayed on the side of a SunLine bus as it travels throughout the Coachella Valley. Students, along with their families and teachers, gathered at SunLine Transit Agency’s headquarters in Thousand Palms for the official unveiling.
The contest invited students from local schools across the region to submit their vision of what a sustainable ride means to them. Entries highlighted themes of clean energy, environmental responsibility, and the future of public transportation. SunLine officials say more than 100 submissions were received since the start of the calendar year.
One of the student winners shared that art has been a lifelong passion. Drawing since childhood, they said the contest provided an opportunity to express creativity and put years of practice to use. Teachers at the event emphasized how much students enjoy creating art, noting that it gives them an outlet to explore ideas and imagine new possibilities. Seeing their work displayed on buses that travel the Valley daily adds a sense of pride and accomplishment.
SunLine says the next round of applications will open at the beginning of 2026, giving even more students a chance to see their designs featured on the move.
