Be Strong for Animals Fundraiser Surpasses Goal Ahead of Giving Tuesday

With Giving Tuesday approaching, supporters of local animal welfare have something to celebrate. The Be Strong for Animals fund, a joint effort between the REAP Foundation and Animal Samaritans, has already raised more than $16,000. The total surpasses the original goal of $10,000, thanks to generous community support.

The fundraising initiative includes a dollar-to-dollar match of up to $10,000 to help expand access to spay and neuter services throughout the Coachella Valley. That matching opportunity continues through December 2, which coincides with Giving Tuesday.

Organizers say the mission behind the fund is to help control the growing pet population in the region by making these essential services more affordable for local families. They hope the effort will reduce the number of stray animals and create a more manageable environment for shelters and rescue groups.

The Be Strong name is also a tribute to ongoing work in Riverside County’s shelter system and a reminder of the dedication behind this cause. Supporters say the donations will play a key role in ensuring more pets can remain healthy, find homes, and stay out of overcrowded shelters.

Residents can still participate by donating through the link displayed during the broadcast. Organizers extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone contributing to the effort, including Animal Samaritans and the REAP Foundation for the matching pledge.
