Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz: Celebrating Good Grief Day, National Jukebox Day, and Cake Day

Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz is brought to you by Inland Empire Health Plan.

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, we are taking a look at the fun and quirky celebrations happening today, Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

First up, it’s National Good Grief Day. The holiday honors Charles Schulz, the creator of the beloved Peanuts comic strip. Charlie Brown made the expression “good grief” famous, and the day invites fans to celebrate the timeless characters. Whether you’re team Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Pig-Pen, or Woodstock — everyone has a favorite Peanuts friend.

It’s also National Jukebox Day, celebrating the iconic music machines that once played hits for just spare change. From diners to dance halls, the jukebox helped define American music culture. If you’re lucky enough to have one at home, today is the perfect day to dust it off, drop in a coin, and enjoy a little nostalgia.

And just before the Thanksgiving dessert table takes over, today marks National Cake Day. While Thanksgiving is usually all about the pie, cake lovers get their own moment to shine. Whether you bake one today to prep for tomorrow or enjoy a slice ahead of the holiday feast, it’s a sweet excuse to celebrate.

Cake was also the theme for today’s pop quiz. We asked: Which actor recorded the hit song “MacArthur Park” — a breakup ballad that famously includes the line “someone left the cake out in the rain”? The 1968 single reached number two on the Billboard charts, and the answer is Richard Harris.

Stick around — more holiday fun is coming soon as we continue celebrating through Thanksgiving week.
