Macy’s 99th Thanksgiving Day Parade Brings Big Balloons, Big Stars, and Holiday Cheer

A beloved Thanksgiving tradition once again filled the streets of New York City, as the Macy’s 99th Thanksgiving Day Parade aired right here on NBC Palm Springs. Millions tuned in and lined the parade route to see towering balloons, colorful floats, marching bands, and performances that celebrate the start of the holiday season.

Tom Turkey proudly led the procession, which kicked off along Central Park West before making its way more than two and a half miles to Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square on 34th Street. The parade has become a hallmark of the holiday, drawing viewers across the country for generations.

The star power shined as well. Performers including Cynthia Erivo, Lainey Wilson, Ciara, and members of the K-Pop Demon Hunters cast brought music and excitement to the broadcast. Fans also enjoyed seeing four brand-new character balloons and six new floats make their parade debut, adding fresh visuals to this nearly century-old celebration.

And as always, the grand finale belonged to Santa Claus. The crowd erupted as the big man in red arrived in his sleigh, officially ushering in the Christmas season with cheers and joy throughout the city.
