Indian Wells to kick off holiday season with annual tree lighting celebration
Indian Wells is gearing up to welcome the holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony, set to take place Tuesday, December 2, at City Hall. The celebration begins at 5 p.m. and is open to the entire community.
Families can enjoy free hot cocoa, festive lights, and a special visit from Santa Claus himself. Adding to the holiday spirit, students from the nearby Gerald R. Ford Elementary School will take the stage with a seasonal performance to help ring in the festivities.
In addition to the evening’s fun, the city is collecting gifts through December 5 as part of its holiday toy drive, Toys for Little Marines and Sailors. Donations will help brighten the holidays for children of active-duty service members stationed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.
City leaders say the event brings neighbors together while also supporting those who serve. Families are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to contribute and help spread joy to local military families.
