Michael and Susan Dell pledge $6.25 billion to fund “Trump Accounts” for 25 million U.S. children

Billionaires Michael and Susan Dell have committed $6.25 billion to support the new “Trump Accounts” program, pledging to deposit $250 into custodial investment accounts for 25 million American children under age 10.
The donation is intended to supplement the federal government’s contribution: under the law known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, each child born between 2025 and 2028 will receive a $1,000 “seed” from the federal government.
The Dell gift targets children who will not get the $1,000 — those under 10 and born before 2025 — offering them a head start with $250. Families may also open accounts for older children if funds remain available.
Money in these accounts must be invested in broad U.S. stock-market index funds. When children turn 18, funds can be withdrawn for education, a first home, starting a business, or other qualified purposes. Parents and other supporters can add to the account over time.
The Dells call their pledge a historic commitment — one of the largest single private investments ever made to children in the United States.
