Traffic Alert: Paving Work on Cook Street Through Dec. 16 🚧
The Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) has announced ongoing paving work along Cook Street as the WRP-10 Low Pressure Pipeline Project nears completion. Crews are scheduled to continue work through Tuesday, December 16, with a combination of daytime and nighttime operations aimed at reducing major traffic disruptions.
What Drivers Can Expect
Motorists traveling through the area should be prepared for temporary access limitations:
Northbound Cook Street: Reduced to one lane
Southbound Cook Street: No impacts expected
Intersections: Eastbound access will be limited at night as paving crews move through each intersection
Detours: Signage will be posted along Cook Street — drivers are urged to follow all detours and allow additional travel time
Scheduled Work
Day Work (6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
Dec. 2: Merle Dr. → Green Way
Dec. 3: Green Way → Hovley Ln East
Dec. 4: Hovley Ln East → Riviera Dr.
Night Work (7 p.m. – 3:30 a.m.)
Dec. 10: WRP-10 entrance → Merle Dr., including Merle Dr. & Green Way intersections
Dec. 11: Hovley Ln East intersection
Final Work
Dec. 15–16 (Day): Striping from WRP-10 entrance → Riviera Dr.
Plan Ahead
Drivers should plan alternate routes when possible and expect delays throughout the paving period. CVWD notes that all scheduled work is subject to change based on weather conditions and field requirements.
