"Be Strong For Animals" Fundraiser Exceeds Goal, Raising Over $31,000 for Spay and Neuter Services
A Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign by Animal Samaritans and the REAP Foundation has raised more than $31,000 to subsidize spay and neuter surgeries in the Coachella Valley, surpassing its $20,000 goal.
The "Be Strong for Animals" fund, which concluded Tuesday, December 2nd, featured dollar-for-dollar matching by the REAP Foundation up to $10,000.
The funds will provide subsidized surgeries for qualified pet owners who cannot afford standard costs, which typically range from $300 to $800. According to Animal Samaritans CEO Tom Snyder, the initiative addresses financial barriers that prevent pet owners from accessing these services.
Animal Samaritans officials note that expanded access to spay and neuter services directly addresses pet overpopulation and shelter overcrowding in the region.
