Two people displaced after house fire in Desert Hot Springs

Two adults were displaced Tuesday afternoon after a residential fire broke out in Desert Hot Springs, authorities said.
The blaze was reported at 1:18 p.m. in the 13500 block of Cuando Way, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the home’s attic. The fire was contained and fully knocked down by 2 p.m.
The American Red Cross was called in to assist the displaced man and woman. Firefighters remained on scene for about an hour to conduct salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
