WHO Officially Recognizes Cannabis-Linked Vomiting Syndrome

A mysterious vomiting disorder linked to long-term cannabis use has now been formally recognized by global health officials as cases continue to rise across the country.
The World Health Organization has added cannabis hyperemesis syndrome to its official diagnostic manual. The condition affects daily or long-term marijuana users and can cause severe nausea, persistent vomiting, and intense stomach pain. In rare cases, it can lead to complications such as seizures, kidney failure, and even death.

With this formal recognition, doctors will be able to more accurately identify, track, and study the syndrome, a step that could improve treatment options moving forward.

At this time, the only known way to cure the condition is to stop using cannabis.
