CDC Vaccine Panel Delays Vote On Hepatitis B Guidelines

A panel of vaccine advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has delayed a crucial vote that would change guidelines on when to give the hepatitis B vaccine to babies. The vote, originally expected Thursday, will now take place this morning. The postponement followed an hours-long meeting that several advisers described as tense, with moments of misinformation, disagreement, and conflict slowing the committee’s progress.
