New $8.5 Million Fire Station Boosts Emergency Response in East Desert Hot Springs

A new $8.5 million fire station aimed at improving emergency response in the eastern region of Desert Hot Springs is now fully operational.
Fire Station 98, located at 69111 Hacienda Ave., officially opened on Nov. 24. The station is currently staffed with a four-person fire engine crew from Cal Fire, and officials say it will eventually transition to Quint 98, a 107-foot ladder truck equipped with a water tank and pump.
The new 8,729-square-foot facility includes 4,723 square feet of living space, a 4,006-square-foot apparatus bay, and a 400-square-foot storage building. The project was funded through public safety bonds, with full project completion expected by the end of 2025.
