Heat Peaks Mid-Week in Palm Springs as Santa Ana Winds Bring Warm, Dry Pattern
The Coachella Valley is gearing up for an unseasonably warm week, with Palm Springs expected to experience a noticeable spike in temperatures as a strengthening upper-level ridge settles over Southern California.
Warm and dry conditions will dominate the region, accompanied by occasional Santa Ana winds that will enhance the heating trend.
The warmup builds early in the week, but the most significant heat arrives by Tuesday. Forecasts indicate that temperatures across the low deserts will reach the low to mid-80s. This places daytime highs roughly 15 to 20 degrees above what is typical for early winter in the Coachella Valley.
Despite the warmth, humidity will remain very low, keeping conditions dry and desert-like.
Santa Ana winds will be present at times, though not expected to reach particularly strong levels.
Even with above-average daytime highs, overnight and early-morning temperatures will remain cool—particularly in wind-sheltered zones—reducing overall heat impacts for residents and visitors.
Overall, the Coachella Valley is set for a pleasant but notably warm stretch of weather, offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities, tourism, and early-season events in Palm Springs and beyond.
