The holiday spirit was shining bright last night at The Roost Lounge in Cathedral City, where the community came together for a festive wreath contest and auction. Each wreath was handmade with care by members of the public and then auctioned off to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City.
Organizers say the event helps ensure that every child in the community feels the joy of the holidays. They hope the donations will help fill the gap for families who may struggle to afford gifts this season. Attendees were also encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to support the club’s annual holiday giveaway.
Last year, the event helped provide 700 toys and bicycles to local kids, and organizers hope to surpass that generosity again this year with the help of The Roost Lounge and its supporters.
Wreath entries were judged on creativity, originality, and use of materials — and the results were stunning. From traditional greenery to imaginative and colorful designs, the competition showcased the artistic spirit of Cathedral City residents.
Thanks to the volunteers, donors, and talented creators who helped make the event a holiday success.
