Cathedral City Skincare Brand Focuses on Women 40+ With Potent, All-Natural Formulas
Just Us Skincare began when co-founder Brooke Dougherty realized the products she needed weren’t available in stores. She started creating her own formulas at home, and the brand grew naturally from there. Brooke and fellow co-founder Evelyn Sprigg say that while younger consumers have plenty of skincare options, women over 40 often struggle to find products that truly meet their changing skin needs.
Most skincare items on the market contain about 90% water and only a single active “hero” ingredient. In contrast, Just Us Skincare’s Rainforest Repair Balm contains no water at all—and features 13 hero ingredients. The company relies on natural, time-tested ingredients like tamanu oil and bacuri butter, both known for their healing properties.
By operating without a brick-and-mortar store, the founders say they’re able to keep prices affordable. They work with a chemist in their Cathedral City lab—someone who previously formulated for major beauty brands—to refine each product.
For many customers, the results have been transformative. What began as a small, personal solution has grown into a business helping women feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.
