NBC Palm Springs, Fire Department and Boys & Girls Club team up for annual holiday toy drive

NBC Palm Springs partnered with the Palm Springs Fire Department and the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Springs for an all-day toy drive benefiting local children in need. The event took place at Palm Springs Fire Station 2, located directly in front of the Palm Springs International Airport on northbound El Cielo Road.

NBC Palm Springs reporter Alondra Campos broadcast live throughout the morning as community members dropped off unwrapped toys and gifts. Donors didn’t even need to leave their vehicles, making it easy for residents to participate and support families across the Coachella Valley.

Firefighters were on hand to greet the community, along with Max, the department’s friendly station dog who spent the morning visiting with crews and guests. A growing collection of donated toys could be seen behind the live shot, signaling a strong turnout early in the day.

The toy drive continues through this evening, giving residents plenty of time to stop by, enjoy a donut, and share some holiday cheer while supporting children served by the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Springs.
