Schumer: GOP lacks plan as Obamacare subsidies expire

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer held a press conference Wednesday warning that Republicans do not have a coherent plan to address the looming expiration of Obamacare subsidies.

With just days left, Schumer urged Congress to approve what Democrats are proposing: a clean extension of existing tax credits. “No poison pills, no gimmicks, just relief,” he said, arguing that their proposal is the only one enjoying support across his party and beyond Capitol Hill.

He added that Democrats are fighting for lower health-care costs for Americans — while Republicans remain divided and unable to agree on a plan.
