Cathedral City Seek to Fill District 3 Vacant Seat by End of December

CATHEDRAL CITY (CNS) - Cathedral City officials seeking to fill the
District 3 seat left vacant after the death of Councilman Mark Carnevale were
asking residents interested in the position to apply by the end of the month.
  

Applicants must submit a letter to the city's clerk office either by
email or in person by 5 p.m. Dec. 29. The office is located at 68700 Avenida
Lalo Guerrero, and can be reached via email at cityclerk@cathedralcity.gov.
  

Eligible applicants must be registered voters and residents of
District 3. A map of District 3 can be found at
cathedralcity.gov/government/electoral-districts.
  

The City Council will hold a meeting at 3 p.m. on Jan.7, 2026 to
interview applicants and appoint a new council member, officials said.
  

Once appointed, the council member will serve the remainder of
Carnevale's term, which expires next November.
