Motorcyclist Killed in Late-Night Crash With Big Rig in Indio

A 33-year-old man has died following a collision between a motorcycle and a big rig late Thursday night in Indio.

Police say the crash happened around 11:15 p.m. on Monroe Street, just south of Interstate 10. Officers arrived to find the motorcyclist in the roadway with severe injuries.

He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died early this morning. His name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the big rig was not injured and is cooperating with investigators. Indio police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
