Winterfest 2025 Brings Free Holiday Fun and Dance Performances to Palm Desert This Weekend

The holiday spirit is taking over the Coachella Valley this weekend as Winterfest 2025 prepares to transform Palm Desert Civic Center Park into a hub of festive entertainment. Now in its third year, this annual tradition invites the community to enjoy a day of open-air fun, shopping, and local talent.

NBC Palm Springs digital reporter Thalia Hayden spoke with Sydney Newland, owner of Dance Dimensions and the creator of the event, to get the details on what families can expect. According to Newland, the festival was originally created to give local dance students a platform to showcase their hard work outside of high-pressure competitions. Dancers from the studio have been rehearsing their holiday-themed routines since September and are eager to perform for friends, family, and neighbors on the amphitheater stage.

While the dance performances are the centerpiece, this year’s festival has expanded to offer even more entertainment. Newland noted that organizers have added new activities for kids, including a bounce house, lawn bowling, and various interactive games.

Attendees can also browse a variety of local vendors for holiday gifts and enjoy lunch from several food trucks on site. Newland emphasized that the event is designed to be a "fun, low-key day in the park."

Event Details: Winterfest 2025 takes place this Saturday at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park amphitheater area. The festivities kick off at 10:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m. Admission is entirely free for the public.
