Palm Springs Noon Rotary Honors Milt Levinson with Book Giveaway at Cahuilla Elementary
A successful book giveaway brought smiles to students and appreciation from teachers at Cahuilla Elementary, as members of the Palm Springs Noon Rotary continued a meaningful tradition centered on literacy and community support.
Rotary members distributed two brand-new books to every student at the school, ensuring each child went home with reading material of their own. The annual giveaway honors the memory of Rotary member Milt Levinson, who originally launched the initiative at Cahuilla Elementary with the goal of encouraging a love of reading among young students.
Teachers and staff say the program has been well received year after year, helping reinforce the importance of literacy both in and out of the classroom. For many students, the books become personal keepsakes and a source of excitement during the school year.
Palm Springs Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Marcus Funchess joined the event, thanking Rotary members for their continued commitment to local schools and students. He emphasized the positive impact community partnerships have on education and student success.
The Palm Springs Noon Rotary says honoring Levinson’s legacy through service remains at the heart of the program, and members are proud to see the initiative continue to grow and reach new generations of readers.
