Cathedral City to Honor Late Councilmember Mark Carnevale at Public Memorial Service

A celebration of life will be held today for former Cathedral City Mayor and City Councilor Mark Carnevale, who died on November 16th in Rancho Mirage.

The public memorial service will take place at the Mary Pickford Theatre, located at 36850 Pickfair Street in Cathedral City. The event is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and will be livestreamed on the City of Cathedral City's YouTube channel at youtube.com/discovercathedralcity for those unable to attend in person.

The service will feature musical and video tributes, along with remarks from city leadership, community partners, and family members honoring Carnevale's impact on Cathedral City.

Carnevale served Cathedral City for over a decade, representing District 3 on the City Council and serving as Mayor on two separate occasions. City officials have credited his advocacy for smart growth and development with helping shape Cathedral City's current landscape.

In addition to his public service, Carnevale owned and operated Nicolino's Italian Restaurant since 1985.

The family has requested that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Arnold-Carnevale Family Foundation, P.O. Box 4242, Palm Springs, CA 92263.
