Rob Reiner's Death Shocks Palm Springs' Plaza Theatre

"An Evening with Rob Reiner" was supposed to take place at the Plaza Theatre Tuesday night before the tragic death of director Rob Reiner and his wife on Sunday.

Tonight, the marquee says the name of actress and activist Jane Lynch on it. Lynch is out performing "A Swingin' Little Christmas," however, our Caitlyn Kelley had a chance to speak with her and get her reaction on Reiner's death.

"I knew Rob socially, and we're going to miss him," Lynch said. "He was a really great guy, he was really kind. And he was more of a warrior for gay rights than I could ever be; such a giver. And his wife was so wonderful, too." She continued, "I'm sending love to all their kids and everybody who knew them and loved them."

When NBC Palm Springs spoke to representatives from Palm Springs Speaks, they said the speaking series was one of the main reasons they wanted to have Rob Reiner in Palm Springs -- not just because of his accomplishments as an actor, producer and director, but also because he was an advocate for those that were underserved.

And while the marquee tonight is lit up now, on Tuesday, it will be dark because of the tragedy that is the death and passing of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle Singer Reiner.
