Local Mom’s Viral Snack Table Turns Holiday Thank-You Into Year-Round Tradition for Delivery Drivers
A local woman is turning a simple act of kindness into a viral reminder of gratitude this holiday season. Cindy Light, a cancer survivor and single mother of two teenage daughters, has been leaving snacks and drinks outside her home for mail and package delivery drivers working long hours during the busiest time of the year.
Light says the idea grew out of her desire to both give back and spend more time with her children. After previously working long hours as a rideshare driver, she turned to social media as a way to control her schedule and be more present for her daughters. What began as a small snack table quickly gained unexpected attention when Light posted a video showing nearby neighbors accidentally taking the treats meant for delivery drivers. The post went viral, earning a combined one million views on TikTok and Instagram.
Since then, Light has continued sharing videos capturing delivery drivers’ reactions as they discover the free snacks. She says their excitement and appreciation fuel her motivation to keep the project going, especially during the holidays when drivers are under increased pressure to deliver packages on time.
The snack table has also become a family tradition. Light’s daughters help restock, organize, and check the table once or twice a day, learning firsthand the value of generosity and gratitude. Light says the project won’t stop anytime soon, adding that as long as packages keep arriving, she plans to keep saying thank you—one snack at a time.
