Operation Holiday Cheer Brings First Responders to Local Hospitals Across the Coachella Valley
If you hear sirens near local hospitals today, there’s no cause for alarm. First responders from across Riverside County are participating in Operation Holiday Cheer, a special event designed to honor healthcare workers during the holiday season.
Firefighters and law enforcement personnel are taking part in a festive motorcade, traveling to several hospitals throughout the Coachella Valley. The stops include JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, and Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage.
At each location, first responders are greeting medical staff, shining vehicle lights, and sounding sirens as a show of appreciation for the dedication, hard work, and sacrifices healthcare professionals make year-round, especially during the holidays.
The motorcade made its stop in Indio earlier this morning before heading toward Palm Springs, with Rancho Mirage also included in today’s route. The event has become a meaningful tradition aimed at boosting morale and letting hospital staff know their efforts do not go unnoticed.
Officials say the goal of Operation Holiday Cheer is to spread positivity and gratitude while strengthening the connection between first responders and healthcare workers who work side by side to keep the community safe.
