Palm Springs Fire Foundation Delivers Holiday Joy to Local Boys and Girls Club

The holiday season came with smiles, laughter, and plenty of gifts for local kids as the Palm Springs Fire Foundation completed its annual toy drive and distribution event.

Last week, NBC Palm Springs took viewers live to the Palm Springs Fire Foundation’s toy drive, where donations poured in from across the community. This week, those toys — big and small — were officially delivered to children at the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Springs.

Fire crew members helped hand out gifts to approximately 60 children during the event. Younger kids received toys, while older children were given gift cards so they could choose something special for themselves. The effort was organized by the Palm Springs Fire Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Palm Springs Fire Department.

Firefighters say giving back is a core part of their mission, especially during the holidays.

“Just to give back to the community is something that we’re super passionate about,” one fire crew member said. “That’s our department and the title itself. It’s something we always look forward to. The holidays are a special time to bring families, friends, and the community together.”

The event has become a successful annual tradition, helping ensure local children experience some extra holiday joy. Adding to the excitement, kids also got to meet Sparky, the fire station’s dog mascot, making the day even more memorable.

Organizers say the continued support from the community plays a major role in making the toy drive possible year after year, helping spread holiday cheer to families across Palm Springs.
