Road Construction Projects Impact Travel in Indio and Palm Springs This Week
A few road construction projects are impacting drivers across the Coachella Valley as the region moves into the second half of the work week.
In Indio, the city’s annual street paving project is now underway on Avenue ___. Work on the roadway began Tuesday and is expected to continue through Friday. City officials say the project is designed to repair aging infrastructure and improve overall road safety.
Motorists who regularly travel along Avenue ___ are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes through the remainder of the week to help reduce congestion and make their commute easier.
Meanwhile, construction on the South Palm Canyon Bridge project in Palm Springs continues Thursday morning. Crews will be placing concrete on the new western side of the bridge as part of ongoing improvements.
Officials have not provided a specific end time for this phase of the project. Drivers traveling along South Palm Canyon Road at any point throughout the day should expect delays while crews work in the construction zone.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, watch for posted signs, and remain alert when driving through areas affected by road work.
