Spielberg Sets His Sights Beyond The Stars, Stones Tour Canceled, and 'The Pitt' Season 2
From sci-fi blockbusters to rock legends and Emmy-winning dramas, this week's entertainment news spans the spectrum.
Steven Spielberg is returning to extraterrestrial territory with "Disclosure Day," a new UFO film coming to theaters next summer. The director behind "E.T." and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" released a teaser trailer that asks, "If you found out we weren't alone, if someone showed it to you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?" The sci-fi feature stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, and Colin Firth.
Rolling Stones fans hoping to catch the band in 2026 will need to adjust their plans. Mick Jagger and company have canceled their stadium tour of the UK and Europe scheduled for next year. A new album is still expected to drop in 2026.
HBO Max's "The Pitt" released its Season 2 trailer, showing the hospital's doctors facing another chaotic shift—this time dealing with a systemwide computer shutdown. The medical drama, which took home the Emmy for Best Drama this year, returns January 8th with 15 new episodes featuring both familiar faces and new characters.
