Cathedral City Boys & Girls Club Hosts Annual Holiday Posada for Hundreds of Local Families
The spirit of the season was on full display tonight at the Cathedral City Boys & Girls Club as the organization hosted its annual Holiday Posada, bringing joy to hundreds of local children and families just days before Christmas.
The festive event welcomed families throughout the evening, with approximately 120 children arriving every hour to shop for toys, enjoy a warm meal, and take part in holiday celebrations. Tables were filled with donated toys, many of which came from recent community drives, including a bingo fundraiser held at Roost Lounge.
Organizers say the Holiday Posada is one of the most important events of the year for the club, providing meaningful support to families while reinforcing a sense of kindness and togetherness across the Coachella Valley.
More than 500 people signed up to participate in the event, according to club leadership. In addition to gifts and food, the celebration highlighted recent milestones for the organization, including the addition of a new transportation van that now allows the club to serve students from a local middle school for the first time.
Children eagerly picked out items ranging from sports equipment to toys, with volunteers and NBC Palm Springs team members joining in the festivities. Organizers emphasized that the event is about more than presents, it’s about reminding families that compassion and community support are strong throughout the valley.
The annual Holiday Posada continues to serve as a reminder of the power of giving and the impact local organizations and residents can have when they come together during the holiday season.
