Milwaukee Neighborhood Frustrated by Ongoing Graffiti Vandalism with No End in Sight

Residents and business owners in a Milwaukee neighborhood say ongoing graffiti vandalism has become a persistent and costly problem, leaving many feeling frustrated and unsure how to stop it.

The vandalism has been affecting the Forest Home Hills neighborhood, with residents reporting graffiti on garages, fences, and local businesses. Many say the damage has been happening repeatedly since the summer, with markings reappearing even after being removed.

“It makes me upset, we’ve got a lot of hardworking people in the area, and we don’t need our property defaced,” said Milwaukee resident Steven Price.

Business owners say they are also feeling the financial strain. Sodika Lasisi, who has owned SISI’s Food and Beverages for four years, says his store has been targeted multiple times. He says the most recent incident was captured on security cameras, but the cost of removing the graffiti is adding up.

“I just hope this can stop,” Lasisi said. “I hope they can catch the people that were doing it, because it’s going to cost a lot of money to take them off.”

Some property owners say they are hesitant to even clean up the graffiti because it keeps returning. Homeowners report being hit several times, with no long-term solution in sight.

“That’s the reason I haven’t taken them off yet,” Lasisi said. “Because I’m thinking when I take them off, they are going to come back and paint them again.”

Residents say they want those responsible to be held accountable and are calling for action to stop the vandalism. CBS 58 reached out to the Milwaukee Police Department for comment but had not received a response at the time of publication.
