Pet of the Week: Frosty From The Coachella Valley Animal Campus
Veronica Perez from the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms joined NBC Palm Springs this week with Frosty, an adorable 10-week-old black and white shepherd mix puppy (ID: A1888154). Weighing just 6.40 pounds, Frosty has been at the shelter since November 18th and is neutered and ready for adoption.
The Coachella Valley shelter is currently at 220% overcapacity, making adoptions especially critical. To help animals find homes for the holidays, Riverside County Animal Services is offering free adoptions from December 19-24 as part of their “Home for the Holidays” promotion.
Other featured animals included Linguini (2-year-old Australian cattle dog mix), Kelso (7-year-old German Shepherd), and Mouse (2-year-old calico cat) – all long-term residents of the shelter in need of homes.
The shelter also offers a "Fido Dog Day Out" program, allowing potential adopters to spend a day or overnight with a dog before committing to adoption. A pet support program provides resources like food assistance to help keep pets in their homes.
