DOJ releases new Jeffrey Epstein investigation records: LINK INCLUDED

The U.S. Department of Justice has released a new set of records connected to the sex trafficking investigation involving Jeffrey Epstein and his longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

According to federal officials, the documents were made public following a bipartisan bill signed into law in November by President Donald Trump, which required the Department of Justice to release files related to the case. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said earlier today that the release includes several hundred thousand documents, with additional records expected to be made public in the weeks ahead.

CNN reporters are currently reviewing the newly released materials, which are publicly available through the Department of Justice. The first batch of files can be accessed directly on the DOJ website here:

Reporting will continue as details are revealed within the documents.

Separately, the House Oversight Committee released more than 20,000 pages of records on November 12 that it obtained through a subpoena issued to Epstein’s estate. Those records include emails in which Epstein referenced President Donald Trump. The president has not been accused of wrongdoing in the Epstein case and has denied any involvement.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Ghislaine Maxwell was later convicted for her role in recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein and is currently serving a federal prison sentence.
