Palm Springs Urges Residents to Sign Up for Emergency Alerts, Prepare With Sandbags
The City of Palm Springs is reminding residents to take proactive steps toward emergency preparedness by signing up for community alerts and considering the use of sandbags when needed, accessible at any of the city's five fire stations and a fresh pile of sand at City Hall. The city’s emergency notification system, powered by Everbridge, provides timely and urgent alerts to registered users regardless of their location.
Through the system, residents can receive text messages, voice calls, or computer notifications related to life-saving situations such as fire evacuations, shelter and transportation information during disasters, and other public safety incidents.
Residents can using this link. City officials say staying informed is a critical part of staying safe.
Several other Coachella Valley cities also operate similar alert systems, including Indio, La Quinta, and Coachella. For those whose city does not have a local system, Alert RivCo is available to provide emergency notifications across Riverside County.
