Consumer Confidence Drops to Lowest Level Since April

Consumer confidence took a notable dip this month, falling to its lowest point since spring.
The Conference Board's latest survey shows consumer confidence dropped 3.8 points from November, landing at 89.1. That matches levels last seen in April, when President Donald Trump rolled out his "Liberation Day" tariffs.
The monthly report revealed a particularly striking shift: consumers' views of their family's current financial situation turned negative for the first time in nearly four years. Concern about the labor market also grew across all income levels, coming as the unemployment rate recently climbed to a four-year high.
