DOJ Releases 30,000 More Epstein Documents, Some Referencing Trump

The Justice Department on Tuesday released its third batch of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, adding nearly 30,000 pages and dozens of video clips to the public record. Some of the newly released materials reference President Donald Trump.
The release is required under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which Trump signed into law on November 19. The legislation gave Attorney General Pam Bondi 30 days to make public all unclassified records, documents, and investigative materials in DOJ possession related to Epstein. The law allows redactions to protect victims' identities.
In a post on X, the DOJ acknowledged the Trump references and pushed back on their content, writing that some documents contain "untrue and sensationalist claims" submitted to the FBI shortly before the 2020 election. "The claims are unfounded and false," the department stated.
Among the released materials is an email dated January 7, 2020, in which an unidentified New York prosecutor noted that flight records showed Trump had flown on Epstein's private jet eight times during the 1990s—more than investigators were previously aware of. At least four of those flights also included Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now serving a 20-year prison sentence for helping Epstein sexually abuse underage girls.
Epstein was found dead in a New York jail in August 2019. His death was ruled a suicide.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Monday he would introduce a resolution directing the Senate to take legal action against the DOJ, citing concerns about the pace of releases. A group of Epstein survivors also posted a letter on Instagram urging lawmakers to intervene.
