An Atlanta-based church is offering life-changing relief this holiday season by eliminating $1.5 million in medical debt for families across the metro area.

Spirit and Truth Church announced the initiative this week, saying the effort will benefit more than 1,100 individuals and families in Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Henry counties. Church leaders described the program as a Christmas-centered act of compassion designed to restore dignity and ease financial burdens caused by unexpected medical expenses.

The debt forgiveness was made possible through partnerships that allow organizations to purchase and forgive medical debt at a fraction of its original cost.
