Two Arrested in Coachella Valley Drug and Weapons Enforcement Operation

Two people are in custody following a law enforcement operation targeting drugs and illegal weapons in the Coachella Valley. According to Indio police, officers stopped a vehicle on Monday and arrested 29-year-old Kiana Box after discovering packaged meth and marijuana intended for sale.

Following the traffic stop, detectives served search warrants at two locations, including a home on Monroe Street in Indio. There, officers recovered a stolen revolver, a fully automatic AR-style pistol, and fentanyl packaged for sale. Authorities say a suspect connected to that residence remains at large.

In a related arrest in La Quinta, police took 22-year-old Hugo Anaya into custody after finding a glock pistol in his possession.

Police say the operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking and remove illegal weapons from local communities to improve public safety.
