An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Tuesday, December 30, 2025!
Although the Coachella Valley can expect lots of clouds today, rain is not in the forecast... yet.
As a cut-off upper low pressure center approaches the San Diego coastline, clouds will thicken while rain chances increase.
According to the latest GEFS forecast, rain will fall West of the Coachella Valley late on Wednesday while the NOAA outlook has a few very light showers over the Valley that evening.
All weather computer models agree that the best chance of seeing rain over the Southland will be on Thursday, New Year's Day. That's when the Coachella Valley will experience cloudy skies with on-and-off scattered showers.
With the clouds and the rain, Valley highs will be on the cool-side as those midday numbers struggle to make their way into the middle-60s for both Wednesday and Thursday.
You can expect lots of high clouds on Friday and Saturday with highs in the upper-60s both afternoons.
