Missing man found alive on Highway 74 after weeks-long disappearance

Daniel Hernandez, age 27, who was last seen Dec. 22 up Highway 74, has been found according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Shortly before 1:20 p.m., Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the area of Indian Canyon Trail and Highway 74 after hearing reports of an injured man. The rescue team was requested, and he was was hoisted from the location. Authorities confirmed Highway 74 was closed as a landing zone for the Rescue 9 team. Hernandez was transported to a local hospital, but is in stable condition.

The roadways have been reopened, and no further information is available at this time.
